Royell grew up listening to many different genres of music. But his major influences came from the ones that fed his soul with raw emotion and heart felt lyricism driven by funk and bass laden instrumentals.
After moving to Oklahoma City in 1990 he was taken under the wing of the Oklahoma hip hop legend “Daddy D” now known as “Nitro”. It was during his time in the Nitro camp that Royell developed and perfected his own style and brand of Hip-Hop/R-n-B.
Producing everything from hardcore hip hop club dance bangers to R-N-B laced smooth melodic chill type music. Royell delivers an experience to his fans that will at times make you want to dance and just as easily relate to you on a deeper more profound emotional level. When referring to his writing style he calls it Real Music for Real People Living Real Lives!
He is not green when it comes to the stage either.
Having shared it for years alongside Nitro and as a solo artist opened for acts such as Too Short, Candyman, and Chubb Rock.
In the early years he was a regular performer in the Oklahoma Juneteenth Celebration and many talent showcases.
These days Royell spends most of his time in the studio writing and producing new music on a daily basis aimed at increasing his brand awareness and growing his loyal fan base.
